Fetch Rewards: How to Earn Free Gift Cards Using Your Daily Purchases

Reward programs are a dime a dozen right now, and with so many shopping and rewards apps out there, it can be hard to weed through them all and find out which ones deliver on their promises. One app that seems to be very popular is Fetch Rewards. According to their website, you can earn free gift cards simply by doing what you usually do almost every day: shopping and buying products. Additionally, by targeting certain brands and even playing mobile games, you can boost your points to get rewards even faster. So how do you get started?

What is Fetch Rewards?

Fetch Rewards is a pretty well-established platform that was founded over 10 years ago. Starting in 2013, they created relationships with many major brands, collaborating with them to help drive sales and in turn reward buyers for purchasing products they normally purchase all the time. By simply making a purchase and uploading a receipt, users receive reward points they can redeem once they acquire enough points.

First, you download their app and create an account. Then, you can log in to the app through your Google or Facebook account, or you can register with an email address, and you are all set. Now, all you need to do is go through your normal shopping routine, save your receipts, and submit them through the app. The app makes it super easy to either submit a digital eReceipt or take pictures of your printed paper receipt. That’s it.

The app will then do the rest of the work by scanning your purchases and dish out reward points based on your purchases. Because Fetch Rewards also has promotional partnerships with many major brands, there is an offer section on the app that shows what brands are offering extra rewards for purchasing their products. By targeting these brands and taking advantage of these offers you can really rack up points.

Getting Rewards

Once you have enough points saved up, you can cash them out for gift cards to major retailers and even restaurants. You can snag gift cards to companies like Amazon, Target, CVS Pharmacy, GameStop, Panera Bread, Chipotle, Papa Johns, Dunkin Donuts, and even Starbucks.

Another great feature of Fetch Rewards is that you can choose to donate your rewards to charity instead of cashing out your points for gift cards. They have partnerships with many great charitable organizations such as the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Clean Water Fund, Equal Justice Initiative, Habitat for Humanity, NAACP, and many others. It is a great way to donate to your favorite charity simply by making purchases that you normally do every day.

Gaming Your Way to Rewards

Another great feature that was recently introduced to Fetch Rewards is Fetch Play. If shopping is not your thing, you can now earn free gift cards simply by playing mobile games. A brand-new in-app feature allows you to earn reward points by playing games in the app’s game library. You can choose to download the game to your Android or iPhone or play through the app and earn reward points as you play. You get points by reaching certain milestones and completing in-game challenges. Just like the normal rewards program, once you have enough points saved up you can redeem for one of the many gift cards they have available. You are essentially getting paid to play games!

Fetch Rewards makes its revenue by collecting information on the shopping habits of its users and then selling that data to third-party firms that analyze consumer spending habits. So basically, they are in the business of selling your data, not unlike Facebook or Twitter. If this is a problem, you may want to avoid using the app.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Fetch Rewards limits the amount of receipts that you are able to post within a certain time period. Currently, you are limited to 35 receipts within an 8-day period, which is based on the date and time you upload the receipt, not the checkout date on the receipt itself. Another thing to note is that eReceipts don’t count towards that limit, so that limit only applies to paper receipts.

Overall, if you want to earn rewards for products that you normally buy every day, then Fetch Rewards seems like a no-brainer. They have been around long enough and have enough daily users to prove they are a legitimate rewards program. So why not get that next Starbucks Chai Latte for free using your reward points?
